It's very important that dancers understand that you cannot become a great dancer by only taking dance classes. The dedication, consistency, and discipline it takes to practice at home is very important.
My dance studio consists of four different levels:
Black - intermediate, Pink - beginner/intermediate, Red - beginner, Blue - my tiny dancers.
Each level I tell my dancers that their homework is to always practice what they've learned and to stretch at home. Just like in math class... you need to practice. Practice makes improvement.

In the beginning it is very hard to work for what you want. Trust me, I wish my goals would be available tomorrow. Remember these words... Dedication, Consistency, and Discipline. DCD! You need to possess all three in order to succeed. In my opinion. So many professionals will tell you the same exact thing. If you want it you have to work hard for whatever IT is.
The drive and determination must come from within you. No one else. This is your dream, and your goal. To be a great dancer. Or … anything you want to be.
Stay positive! And never give up. Ask as many questions as you can think of. Lastly stay and feel confident and powerful in everything you do!
